Afghanistan, Media propaganda and Left tail-gating - a discussion

Afghan question and approach to it has become a defining line between Marxism Leninism and revisionism, reformism, between the idealist abstract mechanical approach and the concrete dialectical approach. Outlined questions and most likely additional questions added by the group members are being discussed by a group of international Marxist Leninist (Stalinists) from the point of view of Marxism Leninism.

Any objective comments, concrete facts and assessments on any outlined questions are welcomed - thru open "comment" or privately thru "contact" on the blog.

In our opinion, the question is complicated (more like due to media and confusion among the left turned to be a complicated one) in appearance, but as far as the fundamental principles of Marxism Leninism is concerned it is elementary which will be the main focus of  our discussion.

Initial outlined questions;

What happens when the Mainstream Corporate media becomes the "champion of feminism"?  What would that mean?

First question to respond would be if this "feminism " is in "general " or in "Afghanistan particular"?

Obviously, it will follow the question of why not in Libya particular where women are being sold as slave or other so many countries as bad as Afghanistan.

Second question would be; " why the "Left " is tailgating the corporate media's "feminism!!"?

Is it because they agree with them? some definitely do agree.

Is it because they cannot come up with a viable, concrete solution to Afghanistan situation?

Maybe, they cannot come up with an external solution because it is a question of self-determination, not a question of imposing one's will and culture to the people of another country.

Is it possible that the corporate media's "feminism!!" is being used to justify the previous occupation, and ratify the future military intervention, and prepare the grounds for consent?

Is it possible, at the same time, that they are manufacturing and reinforcing an understanding that;

"it is the west's duty and responsibility to bring "civilization to the East and South by any means necessary".

Is it possible that they are trying to make people forget that in most cases the women rights in those countries have been diminished and gotten worse because of the direct invasions or proxy wars of West?

Has anyone seen any "solution" been presented in any "leftist" article other than echoing the corporate media and "women rights" concerns?

Isn't, not presenting a "solution" and only echoing the same -media propaganda- tantamount to the tacit acceptance of the solution -intervention by "civilized" west- given by the corporate media?

Does the woman- LGBT concern represent the only and fundamental question of what the Afghanistan is facing now?

Do the "feminists" brought up to the corporate media for interview, actually represent the "women of Afghanistan"?

Is there a possibility that the Taliban won so quickly because; the Afghan people in general, and those -who were raped and sold during the occupation - Afghan women in particular fed up with the occupation and disruption of their lives, inactively supported Taliban?

Is there a possibility that the corruption, inequality of the puppet US government, and the raids, shootings, rapes, humiliations by the occupying forces played an important role in not going against Taliban but preferred an "end to occupation"?

Is it possible that the "state of mind" of Afghan people will be different then the "state of mind" of people drinking beer or sipping scotch in a western bar and discussing on an issue related to Afghanistan?

Finally, is there a possibility that an aggressive imperialism with a history of destruction and plunder can be considered "better" than any reactionary local government? (The direction of which some left is heading, and thus tacitly supporting military invasions in latter countries)

For those left-phrased reformists and liberals, looks like It's about time "to spill the beans."

    Stalin; "Daghestan must be autonomous, that it will enjoy the right of internal self-administration, while retaining its fraternal tie with the peoples of Russia.

    Daghestan must be governed in accordance with its specific features, its manner of life and customs.

    We are told that among the Daghestan peoples the Sharia is of great importance. We have also been informed that the enemies of Soviet power are spreading rumours that it has banned the Sharia.

    I have been authorized by the Government of the Russian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic to state here that these rumours are false. The Government of Russia gives every people the full right to govern itself on the basis of its laws and customs.

    The Soviet Government considers that the Sharia, as common law, is as fully authorized as that of any other of the peoples inhabiting Russia.

    If the Daghestan people desire to preserve their laws and customs, they should be preserved."

    May 15-17, 1942 a meeting of the Muslim clergy of the district of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims was held in Ufa. It adopted the "Appeal of the representatives of the Muslim clergy to the believers on the occasion of the German-fascist aggression", where Soviet Muslims were called upon "to spare no effort to fight on the battlefields for the liberation of the great Motherland, all mankind and the Muslim world from the yoke of fascist villains."

    The politics of militant atheism gave way to relative religious tolerance. Feeling the changes, Eshon Babakhan in the winter of 1943 appealed to the Muslim communities of Central Asia and Kazakhstan with a call for unification. Through the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Uzbek SSR, Yuldash Akhunbabaev, Eshon Babakhan with a group of religious leaders began negotiations with the government of the USSR on the creation of a Spiritual Directorate of Muslims of Central Asia and Kazakhstan, similar to the TsDUM. On July 12, 1943, an official appeal of the initiative group headed by Eshon Babakhan to the chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR M.I. Kalinin followed . Soon the initiative to create an Islamic spiritual center in Central Asia was approved in Moscow.
    The first Kurultai (congress) of Muslim ulema took place on October 15-20, 1943 in Tashkent in the house of Eshon Babakhan. It was attended by 160 delegates from the republics of Central Asia and Kazakhstan.
    Kurultai adopted an Appeal to all Muslims, which, in particular, said: “We, Muslim theologians and representatives of believers in Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, on behalf of all Muslims, we address this Appeal to you, our dear sons and brothers! Shoulder to shoulder with all peoples, fight like brave lions against the Nazi invaders, destroy the hated fascists so that not one of them remains on our planet! Defend every inch of our land and strengthen your ranks with iron discipline. We call on all believers to pray to Allah and ask Him to help our soldiers and send down a quick victory over the enemy. In 1978 a revolution created a secular government in Afghanistan that tried to liberate the workers and peasants from the grip of feudal landlords. The secular government was based on a young socialist movement, the Progressive Democratic Party of Afghanistan. The revolutionaries cancelled mortgage debts of laborers and tenants; these debts had been inherited over generations so that feudal warlords held land workers as virtual serfs. And the new government promoted the welfare and liberation of women.

    The revolutionary government immediately moved to improve the terrible conditions women had endured. It set up literacy programs especially for women, whose illiteracy rate was 96%. It trained more teachers and published textbooks in local languages. It organized brigades of women to go into the countryside to provide medical services and by 1985 had increased hospital beds by 80%.

    Decrees were issued, both abolishing the bride-price, so women could be free to choose their marriages, and prohibiting the punishment of women for losing their virginity before marriage. Women were able to train and then work as doctors, teachers and lawyers.

    Initial US objective of supporting the jihadists under the justification of being against Soviet invasion was to defeat the democratic government and restore the rule of the landowners. When Lenin spoke of monopoly capitalism being politicaly reactionary, he was speaking of its support and maintaining of feudal structure. Whilst, the burden of current woman rights in Afghanistan lyes on US.
