According to the GPU of the Ukrainian SSR, 18,822 collective farm settlers arrived and settled in the steppe zone of Ukraine, including 100,079 people. Collective farm settlers brought to Ukraine: horses - 12,045 heads, large cattle - 18,220 [heads], small livestock - 29,924 [heads]. In a number of oblasts, the unsatisfactory economic and living conditions of migrant collective farmers are noted. Houses for them are not repaired, there is a big overcrowding. Many migrants are accommodated by 2-3 families in one hut.

St[aro]-Karansky district. In the collective farms “Pravda”, [named after] Voroshilov, “Zarya”, [named after] Telman, in the houses set aside for migrants, the roofs leak, the windows are not sealed with putty, the stoves smoke.

Bliznetsovsky district. On the collective farm Lenin, "8 Bereznya" and "1 Travnya" during repairs in a hut of 3-4 windows, one was left, the rest were clogged with boards. The ovens have not been repaired.

More than 500 huts for collective farmers-migrants have not been repaired in the Donetsk region. Food and fodder in a number of districts of Kharkov, Dnepropetrovsk. Odessa and Donetsk regions, the migrants are not provided. Many of them, having used up their stocks, experience food difficulties and slaughter their livestock. In some areas, collective farmers are engaged in begging.

Krasnokutsk region. Up to 100 displaced families do not have food. Groups of migrants come to the district executive committee demanding bread. Due to the lack of fodder, some of them kill and sell livestock. The facts of begging are noted. Numerous facts of hostile attitude towards migrants on the part of employees of the boards of collective farms, village councils and individual representatives of district organizations were noted. The resettlers are denied the repair of the premises provided, they create difficult conditions for working on collective farms, they ignore the needs of the resettlers and refuse them material assistance.

Solonyansky district. The chairman of the artel “Chervoniy Nezamozhnik” Dyachenko, when migrants turned to him with a request for food assistance, stated: “We will not give you anything, you can go back. We don't need you, we don't have to feed you."

Kupyansky district. The chairman of the Novye Zhittya collective farm, Koretsky, refuses to give out food to the settlers, saying: “We won’t give you bread, you didn’t work for us much. Buy bread wherever you want.

On the basis of poor material and living conditions among the settlers, there are facts of sharp discontent and a tendency to return to their homeland. 33 families in the amount of 118 people left the districts of the Starobelshchyna of the Donetsk region. Individual families sell their property, also intending to leave.

Shortcomings in the household organization of the settlers are widely used by the kulak element. K/p nationalist elements spread provocative rumors about famine, incite ethnic hatred and in some cases try to terrorize the migrants. On the hut. "Red expanse" of the Novo-Ukrainian region, a migrant Atamansky was killed by a shot through the window (investigation is ongoing). In with. Andreevna of the Kolarovsky district, a migrant Belolutskaya was seized on the street at night and thrown into a well (the perpetrators were arrested). Separate facts have been revealed when local workers, including party members, are carriers of k/p kulak nationalist manifestations.

Sakhnovshinsky district. The representative of the RIK, a member of the Prokopenko party in a group of collective farmers, said: “The famine in Ukraine was caused in order to reduce the number of Ukrainians, to resettle people from another part of the USSR in their place and thereby kill any idea of ​​independence. They strangled their good workers, and they bring us all sorts of rubbish.

The GPU of the Ukrainian SSR was prosecuted and arrested for k/p nationalist activities and sabotage in the organization of collective farm settlers, 75 kulaks, former Makhnovists, Petliurists, and so on. k/p element.
