STALIN'S DEPORTATIONS. 1928-1953

A book (in Russian) with valuable data and documents- not in ideological context.

Editor A.N. Yakovlev

Compiled by N.L.Pobol, P.M.Polyan

This collection covers the main segment of Soviet deportations - ethnic. The first manifestations of ethnic deportations date back to the late 1920s, but they became predominant only in the second half of the 1930s, reaching a culmination during the Second World War and declining after it ended. This uneven chronology of deportation operations dictated the structure and logic of the collection, the first part of which is devoted to pre-war ethnic deportations (1928-1939), the second and third - wartime ethnic deportations (1939-1945), the fourth - post-war deportations (up to the death of Stalin). The annexes include a list of all deportation campaigns and operations in the USSR, as well as some dubious deportation documents allegedly falsified in the Third Reich. The collection is provided with an introductory article, an archaeographic preface, preambles to individual sections and subsections, a name index and a bibliography.
