Ali Fuad promised the mission to immediately cleanse Alexandropol 1 . I inform him now about the hooliganism of Karabekir, indicating that the war between Turkey and Soviet Armenia will mean a war between Turkey and Soviet Russia.

Chicherin

1 According to the Moscow Treaty of March 16, 1921 between the RSFSR and Turkey (see Vol. 111, document No. 342), the border of Turkey with the adjacent Soviet republics of the Transcaucasus was determined; while the region of Alexandropol (now Leninakan) remained within the Soviet Armenia.
However, illegally referring to the enslaving Treaty of Alexandropol, signed on December 2, 1920 by representatives of the Dashnak government, already overthrown by that time (see vol. 111, note 50), the commander of the Eastern Front of the Turkish Armed Forces, General, Kyazim Kara-bekir tried in every possible way to tighten withdrawal of Turkish troops from the occupied Alexandropol district.

As a result of the persistent efforts of the Soviet government, Turkish troops in May 1921 were withdrawn from the territory of the Armenian SSR.
