When the “alternative”, "Left" media becomes a reflection of Mainstream Media

It is shocking to see that most left media is tailing the mainstream media, not only on the news but on the commentaries too in almost every event. Western Media is setting the “agenda” and left media is grabbing the same agenda. What happened to being “alternative”?

War is a prominent issue to be taken by the media. But the only war that is going on in the world is not in Ukraine. In Yemen, Syria, Somalia wars are going on for years, and there are civil wars going on in the world, but the dominant one is the war in Ukraine. People are dying in these countries and in Israel Palestinian children are being killed every day.

Then why the “alternative media” only reflects the agenda, news, and commentaries of the western media. Simply because of the tendency to be a part of the mainstream media. This tendency and opportunism and most of all the “contradiction” can easily be seen on the pages of “left media” outlets. The contradiction is that they claim to be against capitalism, yet their pages are full of capitalist advertisements-propaganda. There is no way that the editorial staff of these web press media outlets won’t know the correlation between promoting capitalist way of life and capitalist propaganda.

It is well known that the most effective tool of imperialism, the National Endowment for Democracy (NED) has so many sub-divisions in Europe and almost in all continents spend millions of dollars to shape the minds, to organize opposition (to those who oppose to West), set the agenda and feed them with their own narrative. That is why it is no coincidence that we can see the same western narratives echoed in the so called “left” media.

It is estimated that only in Ukraine after the fascist coup, the financing for the concocted reality, mobilization or at least for consent to fascism, NED and EU subsidiaries spent an estimated $ 20 to $ 30 million dollars. NED is spending millions of dollars to right wing, Liberal and to so called left groups from Hong Kong to Nicaragua all over the world. So, the issue in Ukraine and the “left” media is not an isolated issue but a part of worldwide Nazification process. Ukraine has a special strategic importance due its being a border country with mass land, population, and military power in addition to its Nazi appeasing, pleasing policy and its Nazi military, police, and militias. That is why NED approved 334 separate grants to Ukraine, a country the group’s 2019 annual report identified as its “top priority.”

The hypocrisy of NED is that these grants are made with the slogan of “promoting independent media” while in fact it is creating the “reflection” of western mainstream media, especially that of U.S. government narratives. These are all in addition to and reflection of Media networks directly owned and operated by the U.S. state, including Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty and Voice of America,

The effects of money poured in Ukraine for the injection of US narrative gave its fruit when Ukraine Neo Nazi pleasing government started aggressively suppressing any pro-Russian sentiment, banning the Russian language from schools and in public places, fining the violations - a majority language, spoken by three-quarters of the population.

Through the grants and other means of supporting so called “independent media” not only they managed the reflection and domination of US narrative, but also were able to keep all the wars and crimes of US away from the eyes of readers and audiences. All through the Ukraine “war” so far, the media is occupied with the news and narratives of “emotional manipulation” through the news, pictures, and interviews of “innocent civilians” and casualties, yet at the same time they forgot to mention that the January of 2022 was the worst month for civilian casualties due to bombing of residential areas since fighting began in 2014 in Yemen. No one really cared to mention or write about it. Same day that the Russians invasion started, Yemen was hit by thirty-seven separate airstrikes across the country. The death toll had already reached to 377,000 by the end of 2021. Like in Israel, these have become a “normal” thing and accepted as such, so no need to report it, no one really reported it. Or the reports and/or commentaries focus on Yemeni aggression towards Saudi Arabia and its allies, and they are presented as the victims.

Just recently the U.S. resumed its bombing campaign against Somalia, there was no coverage in any media, except few, as expectedly so, rather than condemning the aggression, they justified it and claimed it was “against the militants”.

Similarly, Israel continued its attacks on Syria, firing, missiles from the Golan Heights with the same excuse that Syria is working with Hezbollah. So, it is justifiable for them to attack and bomb Syria for its connection to Hezbollah, but it is not justifiable for Russia to attack and bomb Ukraine even though they are working with neo-Nazis and massacring the Russian population.

There are so many hypocrisies to mention deriving from the racist, fascist US- NATO narratives of the world and world events.

Refugee question and handling the question on western media is not so much different than the general racist narrative. If it happens to the “white” people, “it is worst.” So, the Ukrainian refugee crisis is exploited to the outmost without any comparison to the refugee crisis of Iraq, Syria, and Yemen to begin with. In general, Refugee crisis is a “normal” thing for non-whites, “non-Europeans”. As long as it fits the US criteria that is accepted as general fact and aggression on non-white population that causes the refugee crisis is justified, as it is in the case when the refugee crisis of whites is due to US aggression- like in Yugoslavia. But if it is due to another country’s aggressiveness, it is not justified, it has to be condemned- like in Ukraine.

Total refugees forced out, or internally displaced from Syria is close to fourteen million, In Iraq around nine million. These are just the numbers that does not include the way in which they have fled the country and how they have been treated is an important comparable issue that has never been considered and mentioned in the news and commentaries of US narrative tailgaters.

So, the narrative always is and has to be in line with the US narrative. Unfortunately, the so called “left”, despite their fancy words, left phrase making, is reflecting the same attitude in deed. They have become a reflection of Mainstream Media and of commentators of US narrative.
