Call for peace or call for insurrection? - Ukraine question.
Some call the danger of communism, others salvation |
Narrative for discussion
Calls for peace sound and
accepted to be “humanitarian”. However,
for Marxist Leninists there are fundamental questions to be asked for this call
to be made; Peace for whom? With whom? Under what conditions? At what cost? At whose expense? At whose benefit?
Petty bourgeois who ideologically
falters between two opposing classes under various disguises and changes the
sides based on the shifts in the balance of powers, now crying for peace at the
expense of the gains of communists and anti-fascists in Ukraine.
The cowardice nature of petty
bourgeois who believe that capitalism is indispensable, and its forces are indestructible
do not believe in the people’s struggle. They disregard or at best minimize the
impact of communist and anti-fascist struggle of people. They call for peace without
answering the question of “what the details of that peace will be?” “What the
fundamental character of that peace will be.?”
Are we talking about a peace between the imperialists or between the neo-Nazis and the Communists and anti-Fascists? Are we talking about a peace between the imperialists proxy neo-Nazis and the Communists and anti-Fascists? Are we calling for a peace to save the neo-Nazis or communists and anti-fascists? In simple words, are we calling for a “democratic peace”? Or are we talking with all our humanitarianism, our love of humanity, our celestial virtue, and our high intellect to embellish the imperialist peace!”
Lenin said once; “The imperialist
bourgeoisie needs lackeys of both species and varieties: the Plekhanovs, to
encourage the continuation of the slaughter by shouting “Down with the
conquerors”; the Kautskys, to console and placate the embittered masses by
sweet songs of peace.” A Turn in World Politics
Since the practice is a mirror of
ideology, the same lackeys of imperialist bourgeoisie are at large singing the
same familiar songs for the question of the war in Ukraine. These lackeys were
the ones who were chanting the “peace” song when the Ukrainian neo-Nazi
bourgeoisie was trying to disarm the communists and anti-fascists by force
since 2014, and they are the same lackeys of today. They are presenting the
outmost possible sophistry in order to save the neo-Nazi militias and Neo-Nazi,
imperialist proxy government. A “peace “returning to the previous status quo,
not a “democratic peace” for the interests of people but a “peace” for the interests
of imperialists and their proxy government. A thoroughly ‘nice’ kind of “peace” call to the joy of the warmongers and neo-Nazis. It is not
“peace”, it is illusion, it is fiction serving the interests of reaction. This
war is a war in particular not a world war in general in where we have mass
movements in support of “peace.” Calls
for democratic “Peace” in particular includes the reduction of armaments, neutrality – refusal of
any foreign military personnel and equipment in the subject country, a
democratic government, recognizing the rights of minorities, etc. etc. The”
status quo- peace” calls of pseudo-socialists actually indications of them
being the lackeys of the warmongers. That is why they in deed are the worst
enemies of peace, democracy, and Socialism.
The only genuine forces of acquiring
and preserving “peace” is the force of masses
under the leadership of socialists and anti-fascists. Because peace can only be achieved and preserved through
mass movements and more often through armed struggle. It is not coincidence that the
communists were guided by the fact that an integral program for the
preservation of peace with the accumulated experience of the anti-fascist and anti-war
movements constitute the most important element of the popular movement.
Democratic peace is not a negotiation between the bourgeoisies, it is an end
result of mass movements lead by the communists and anti-fascists forcing the hands of bourgeoisie to capitulate. That is why
the call of pseudo socialists is in fact a reformist call capitulating to
reaction- in this case to neo-Nazis at the expense of communists and
anti-fascists and of their blood earned gains.
The struggle for peace and the struggle
for socialism are interlinked which requires mobilizing all peace-loving
forces and peoples and counter the reactionary and imperialist proxy actions. That
mobilization helps to resolve the class tasks of the proletariat because
struggle for peace is a part of general democratic struggle which helps uniting
not only the working class, the peasantry, the petty bourgeoisie, the
intelligentsia and as a result strengthens
the position of socialist struggle.
To deny a peace when there is no
socialist and anti-fascist mass power decisive enough, in Lenin’s words, “would
be a reckless gamble,” but to speak of a peace under the conditions where the
socialist and anti-fascist mass power is decisive (or at least heavily
effective) “will be a betrayal” to the cause of socialism.
The “peace” goes through the
transformation of the idea of revolutionary struggle against -the neo-Nazi
proxies in the Ukraine specific and - imperialism into practice. That is an
active policy of peace which should try to embrace all the laboring, anti-fascist
masses of Ukraine and mobilize them to topple the neo-Nazi, imperialist proxy
regime. Such a policy of peace is a means of gathering socialist and
anti-fascist forces against imperialism in specific and in general.
Socialists and antifascists
should reject any passive, “postponement peace” imposed on them by the reaction but should follow the active policy of gathering forces against imperialism and against their
proxies for a "democratic peace".
