An important textbook for building a Marxist learning party
Recently, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and the Compilation and Translation Bureau of the CPC Central Committee have edited and published the Selected Works of Classical Marxist- Leninist Works ( Reading Book for Party Members and Cadres ) ( hereinafter referred to as the Selected Works ) and the Study Guide of Selected Works of Classical Marxist-Leninist Works ( hereinafter referred to as the Study Guide ) . This is an important achievement of the Marxist theory research and construction project and a great gift to the 90th anniversary of the CPC. It is of great significance to build a Marxist learning party, to arm the mind with the latest achievements of the sinicization of Marxism and to further improve the Marxist theory level of the whole party.
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 17th CPC Central Committee made a major strategic decision to build a Marxist learning party. General Secretary Hu Jintao's important speech at the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China put forward new and higher requirements for building a Marxist learning party. Closely combining China's national conditions and the characteristics of the times, adhering to the ideological and theoretical construction as the foundation, strengthening the study, publicity and interpretation of Marxist classics, and improving the theoretical level and practical skills of the majority of party members and cadres are urgent tasks in building a Marxist learning party. The "Selected Works" and "Learning Guide" are organically connected and interconnected, organically combining the classic original works, special topic summaries and in-depth interpretations, so that we can deeply understand and appreciate the theoretical origins of the classic original works, and understand and master the profound thoughts expressed by the classic writers. It can be said that these two books are both classic and authoritative readings for building a Marxist learning party, and concise and popular readings, which have brought a "timely rain" to strengthen the party's ideological construction and theoretical learning of party members and cadres. At present, an important task of the propaganda and ideological front is to take the publication of these two books as an opportunity to conscientiously organize the study, publicity and interpretation of Marxist classics, deeply study and implement the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, and provide important ideological guarantees for promoting the construction of a Marxist learning party.
1. Taking the publication of the Selection and Study Guide as an opportunity, we should strengthen the study of Marxist classics and creatively apply Marxist standpoints, viewpoints and methods to analyze and solve practical problems we face.
Marxism is a doctrine about the universal laws of the development of nature, society, and thought. It is a profound scientific theoretical system composed of a series of basic theories, basic viewpoints, and basic methods. The classic works of Marxism embody the basic principles of Marxism and are the source of Marxist theory. These two books adhere to the principle of "learning Marxism and Leninism in a refined and practical way", focusing on selecting and interpreting the representative works of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, covering the basic contents of Marxist philosophy, political economy, and scientific socialism, reflecting the high degree of unity between scientificity and practicality.
We should take the publication of these two books as an opportunity to continuously deepen the study of Marxist classics and strive to improve our level and ability to master and apply Marxism. We should earnestly study the classics of Marxist philosophy, fully grasp the basic viewpoints such as the material unity of the world, the universal connection and eternal movement of the material world, the origin of knowledge from practice, and the people as the main body of historical development, firmly establish the world outlook and methodology of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and deeply grasp the laws of development of nature, human society, and human thinking; earnestly study the classics of Marxist political economy, deeply understand the essence of the capitalist system, fully grasp the laws of motion of the capitalist mode of production, and earnestly undertake the historical mission of the proletariat; earnestly study the classics of Marxist scientific socialism, deeply understand the historical inevitability of socialism replacing capitalism, firmly establish the lofty ideal of communism, and strengthen the belief and confidence in promoting the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
We should promote the style of study that combines theory with practice. We should adhere to the view that the source of Marxist theory is practice, the basis of development is practice, and the test standard is also practice. We should focus on our ongoing practice, closely combine the basic principles of Marxism with China's specific reality, deeply answer new issues raised in practice, strive to use the developing Marxism to guide new practice, and improve the ability and capacity to promote scientific development and social harmony. We should regard the study of these two books as an important part of building a learning party organization, include them in the study topics of the Party Committee Central Group, include them in the content of cadres' political studies, include them in the party member training plan, and include them in the scope of various forms of knowledge competitions. Through various channels, we should form a good atmosphere for studying Marxist classics.
2. Taking the publication of the Selection and Study Guide as an opportunity, we will strengthen the publicity of Marxist classics and further create a strong atmosphere for building a Marxist learning party.
The spirit of the "Selection" and "Study Guide" must be accepted and mastered by the majority of party members and cadres, and we must increase publicity efforts to expand social influence. Adopting various ways and means to promote the publicity and popularization of Marxist classics is an important way and measure to bring the basic principles of Marxism to the masses. We must vigorously publicize the importance of studying Marxist classics, so that the majority of party members and cadres fully realize that strengthening the study of Marxist classics is an urgent need to uphold and consolidate the guiding position of Marxism in the field of ideology and always maintain the party's advanced nature in ideology and theory; it is an urgent need to arm party members with the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics in accordance with the requirement of theoretical innovation and theoretical arming for every step forward; it is an urgent need to adapt to the complex and changing international and domestic situation, overcome various difficulties and risks and challenges on the road ahead, and constantly create a new situation in the cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
We must vigorously publicize the important achievements of studying Marxist classics, and publicize the theoretical achievements formed by grassroots Party members and cadres in learning in practice and practicing in learning, so that the majority of Party members and cadres can be inspired and benefit from them. We must vigorously publicize the important progress and results achieved by local units and the majority of Party members and cadres in studying Marxist classics, conscientiously summarize their successful practices and experiences, increase exchanges and promotion efforts, play a typical demonstration and driving role, and enable Party organizations at all levels and the majority of Party members and cadres to learn from role models and catch up with goals. We must make full use of traditional media such as newspapers, television, and radio, as well as emerging media such as the Internet and mobile phones, and increase the publicity of the "Selected Works" and "Study Guide" to form a joint force of publicity and public opinion momentum for studying Marxist classics.
3. Taking the publication of the Selection and Study Guide as an opportunity, we will strengthen the interpretation of Marxist classics and effectively respond to and meet the practical theoretical needs of party members and cadres.
To ensure the study and use of the "Selection" and "Study Guide", an important task is to interpret and explain the Marxist classics in accordance with the new era background and the actual thoughts of party members and cadres, and help party members and cadres to distinguish which basic principles of Marxism must be adhered to for a long time, which theoretical judgments need to be enriched and developed in combination with new practices, which dogmatic understandings of Marxism must be eliminated, and which erroneous views attached to the name of Marxism must be clarified, so as to effectively respond to and meet the Marxist theoretical needs of the majority of party members and cadres.
We should focus on strengthening the interpretation of the writing background of Marxist classics, further explain the historical inevitability of the emergence of Marxism, focus on strengthening the interpretation of the main content and viewpoints of Marxist classics, further explain the scientific truth of Marxism; focus on strengthening the interpretation of the practical value of Marxist classics, and further explain the practical urgency of adhering to and developing Marxism. We should give full play to the role of social science theory circles and theoretical workers, give full play to the role of colleges and universities and social science research institutions, give full play to the role of the Research Center for the Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics deeply interpret and interpret Marxist classics, and promote the research and construction of Marxist theory.
In short, we must earnestly study and implement the spirit of General Secretary Hu Jintao's speech at the meeting celebrating the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, more consciously regard learning as a spiritual pursuit, combine the study, publicity and interpretation of the "Selection" and "Study Guide" with the in-depth study and mastery of Marxism-Leninism and Mao Zedong Thought, with the in-depth study and mastery of the theoretical system of socialism with Chinese characteristics, with the promotion of the construction of the socialist core value system, with strengthening the theoretical study of the broad masses of party members, cadres, the people and teachers and students of colleges and universities, and with carrying out the party's theoretical propaganda work, and make due contributions to building a Marxist learning party.
